The worldwide page currently displays the July 2026 online window, not the December release. It should update after the December test.
Use the JLPT test dates 2026 and JLPT December registration guide for the examination timeline.
Results for candidates in Japan
JEES's 2026 second-test guide says:
- Results can be viewed on the MyJLPT Test Result and Certificate Issuance screen from late January 2027.
- Official test results and the Certificate of Japanese-Language Proficiency are sent in late February 2027.
This is the most specific confirmed Japan timeline available on 22 October. It does not yet provide the exact day or hour.
To prepare:
- Recover the MyJLPT account before late January.
- Confirm the registered address remains correct under the host's rules.
- Keep the examinee registration number and test details.
- Watch the official JEES notice for the exact opening date.
- Do not create a second MyJLPT account merely because the password is lost.
Review JLPT registration in Japan for the domestic account context.
Results for candidates outside Japan
Overseas candidates receive results through the local host institution. The worldwide process page gives a general December result period of around March. The current worldwide results page says overseas December documents are received around the middle of March.
Online access often opens earlier, but the exact December 2026 worldwide date has not been announced. The July 2026 result opened on 27 August; that does not prove a particular January 2027 day.
Do not copy a result date from another country's host without checking your own location. Time zones, access systems and availability periods differ.
Find the official host through the worldwide host list, then save its result instructions.
Online result access by location
The official result page divides access into:
Japan
Use MyJLPT through JEES. Do not use the generic "other countries" form.
China
Choose China on the worldwide result page and follow the designated official route.
Hong Kong and Macau
Use the regional path linked by the official location selector.
Taiwan
Use the Taiwan path. Viewing period and content can differ from Japan.
Korea
Select the relevant administration area: Seoul committee, Busan association or Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Other countries
Use the "Other countries" route or the local host's official result portal as instructed. Keep the information required for login from registration and the test voucher.
Candidates in India or Nepal should not assume every local city shares one portal. Keep the instructions from the city host used for registration. See JLPT registration in India and JLPT registration in Nepal.
Score Report and certificate delivery
All examinees receive a result document:
- In Japan: Score Report for all candidates.
- Overseas: Certificate of Result and Scores for all candidates.
- Successful candidates: Certificate of Proficiency for the tested level.
The official worldwide page currently says:
- Japan December results are sent in early February in its general reference section, while the specific JEES 2026 guide schedules late February 2027. For the 2026 domestic round, follow the more specific JEES notice.
- Overseas December reports arrive around the middle of March through local hosts.
This difference is why one global delivery date is misleading. The domestic operator and overseas hosts control mailing.
How to check pass or fail
Pass rules depend on level:
| Level | Overall pass | Section minimums |
|---|---|---|
| N1 | 100/180 | 19/60 in Language Knowledge, Reading and Listening |
| N2 | 90/180 | 19/60 in each of three sections |
| N3 | 95/180 | 19/60 in each of three sections |
| N4 | 90/180 | 38/120 combined Language Knowledge/Reading and 19/60 Listening |
| N5 | 80/180 | 38/120 combined Language Knowledge/Reading and 19/60 Listening |
Both overall and section rules apply. A high total does not override a failed section.
Use the JLPT N1 guide, N2 guide, N3 guide, N4 guide, or N5 guide.
CEFR reference on December results
Passed results show CEFR reference information:
- N5: A1.
- N4: A2.
- N3: A2 at 95-103; B1 at 104+.
- N2: B1 at 90-111; B2 at 112+.
- N1: B2 at 100-141; C1 at 142+.
Failed candidates receive no CEFR indication. The reference covers linguistic and receptive ability, not speaking or writing.

What to do if results or mail are missing
Online result unavailable
- Confirm the official December window has opened.
- Select the location where you actually tested.
- Check credentials exactly.
- Avoid repeated guesses that could trigger a lock.
- Contact MyJLPT support or the local host, not an unrelated center.
Mailed report missing
The JLPT FAQ says to contact the local institution if the report has not arrived by the end of the scheduled month. For Japan, use the JLPT Application Center. Overseas, use the host in the city where you took the test.
Name or birth-date error
Reissue procedures differ by country or area. Contact the operator tied to the test location.
JLPT will not disclose results over phone or email. Support can help with process, not bypass official result access.
What to do after seeing the result
Passed
- Save the online display for personal reference where permitted.
- Wait for the official document required by employers or schools.
- Check whether a Certificate of Result and Scores is needed.
- Begin the next level or practical communication plan.
Failed
- Read the three or two scoring sections correctly.
- Identify whether the failure came from total or sectional minimum.
- Use reference information as diagnostic, not pass points.
- Build a retake plan around the July 2027 or next available local test.
Use Japanese shadowing practice, 30-minute Japanese routine, and how to learn Japanese grammar fast.
Result scams and privacy
Avoid pages claiming they can reveal results before the official opening. Never send MyJLPT credentials, registration password, passport copy or payment to an unofficial result checker.
When sharing a score screenshot, redact:
- Registration number.
- Full birth date.
- Address.
- Verification codes.
- Other identifiers.
Use only official JLPT, JEES and host pages.
Speaking after the result
JLPT scores do not directly show conversation ability. Whether you passed or failed, practice Japanese speaking with AI, speaking Japanese alone, and Japanese conversation at work.
Start a free Japanese speaking session and explain your result, weak section and next plan in Japanese.
Try another free conversation while waiting for the mailed certificate.
Final result-date checklist
- Confirm you tested on 6 December 2026.
- Use the result path for the test location.
- Japan: monitor MyJLPT for late January 2027.
- Overseas: monitor the official worldwide page and local host.
- Treat exact overseas online dates as pending until announced.
- Expect domestic documents in late February under the specific JEES guide.
- Expect overseas delivery around March.
- Do not request scores by email or phone.
- Protect login and result identifiers.
- Contact the correct host if mail is missing.
Practice Japanese speaking free during the wait instead of refreshing unofficial result pages.
